One week to the election
Hurricane Sandy came through DC last night, the polls are all over the place, and it’s a sprint to the finish. Let’s hope the media doesn’t create another election exit poll fiasco (remember 2000?)
3rd presidential debate sketches
A couple of more sketches I did during the debates last night for the Washington Post. Here’s the link to the slideshow.
Obama dodges drone question
Moderator Bob Schieffer asks, but doesn’t follow up on question about the use of drones and civilian casualties.
“We can’t kill our way out of this mess”
A Mitt Romney line during the debate last night gives me an opportunity to draw Dick Cheney again!
Final presidential debate tonight
The 3rd and final debate is scheduled for 9pm EST tonight. I’ll be doing sketches again tonight for the Washington Post (should go more smoothly this time); will post the link as soon as I can. UPDATE: Live coverage starting approx 8:30pm EST at The Grid.
Deregulation
Interesting column by Robert Scheer about R. Glenn Hubbard, “the man who will make your life miserable if Mitt Romney is elected president. Unless, that is, you happen to be one of the swindlers who has profited mightily from the nation’s economic pain”.
Women voters
Lots of talk this morning about women voters and what’s important to them. Here’s a print cartoon on the subject from my archives (2004):
Some sketches from the debate
Morning of the 2nd Presidential debate
I’m going to be doing some sketches during the debate tonight for The Washington Post. Here’s a quick one I did this morning:
My new look
Well, I finally got a makeover. I’ve been meaning to re-design my website for a while now (ok, years) but ever since trading in my print syndication for full-time animated editorial cartoons at the Washington Post, I just couldn’t find the time. My motivation came when Sara Thaves of the Cartoonist Group and I teamed up to create the app, POTUSpick– since there would be a link to my personal website within the app. Many thanks to Ken Smith , who designed and built the new and improved www.anntelnaes.com.
